The anti-terror federal probe agency NIA on Thursday said it has conducted searches at four locations in Sopore and Srinagar and arrested one accused person, Irfan Tariq Antoo, a resident of Kral Tang area in connection with Jammu & Kashmir terrorism conspiracy case.
An official spokesperson of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that the arrested person is a terror associate and Over Ground Worker (OGW) of a proscribed terrorist organisation and have been providing logistical and material support to terrorists.
The case relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities including New Delhi, by cadres of proscribed terrorist organisations Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as the Resistance Front (TRF) and People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF), the official said.
The NIA had registered the case on October 10, 2021 and initiated the investigation and the agency has so far arrested 28 persons in connection with this case till now, the official informed, while adding that further investigation in the case continues.
