New Delhi, June 16
The NIA today continued with its raids at multiple locations in J&K for the second consecutive day in connection with its probe into a case pertaining to cross-LoC trade linked to terror funding, officials said. Police and CRPF personnel accompanied NIA officials during the search on premises of Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) office-bearers and members. Some documents and electronic devices were seized.
Later, the NIA said, “The case pertains to the activities of the members of JeI, who have been collecting funds domestically and abroad through donations and using the same for secessionist activities.” The JeI has also been recruiting youth to participate in disruptive secessionist activities, the NIA alleged, adding that the case was registered suo-moto last year. On Wednesday, the NIA had searched the premises of cross-LoC traders.
