The J&K administration on Monday told the Supreme Court no coercive action would be taken against those who moved the top court against the J&K High Court verdict scrapping the Roshni Act.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the J&K administration, told a Bench headed by Justice NV Ramana that the review petition against the October 9 HC verdict would be taken up on Thursday. The Bench granted liberty to petitioners to mention the matter after the HC decides the issue. Mehta had assured last month that no coercive action would be taken against those who have moved the top court as they were not “land grabbers or unauthorised people”.
