Reacting to interim Budget, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Arun Gupta has stated that there is nothing new for the business community as no relief has been announced for them. “We had demanded establishment of some public sector undertaking unit in Jammu but nothing has been announced. The business community had hoped the government would announce establishment of a big tourism destination in Jammu to increase the footfall of tourists as rail connectivity up to Kashmir will definitely harm the economic growth especially of Jammu city,” he said.

Gupta, however, welcomed the continuity of tax benefits to the start-ups and tax exemption to some IFSC units.
