The Awami Ittehad Party stated on Tuesday that jailed MP Engineer Rashid, who is on an indefinite hunger strike, has lost 5 kg in just four days but “remains steadfast in his fight for justice”.

A statement issued by the party said that on the fifth consecutive day of Engineer Rashid’s hunger strike, his younger son, Asrar Rashid, visited him in Tihar Jail, New Delhi. Last week, Rashid began his hunger strike to protest being denied permission to attend the Budget session of Parliament, which commenced on Friday.
