Online exam centres in private colleges

Many private colleges in the winter capital have set up exam centres for conducting online national competitive examinations for the convenience of the students. A majority of the centres for online examinations have been established in those private BEd olleges which have hut down. In the Langar area of Kaluchak, the Chenab College of Education, which has stopped offering BEd courses, has now become one of the important centres for online examinations being conducted by Indian Banking Personnel Service, Services Selection Board and the Staff Selection Commission. “Online competitive examination is becoming a trend now. Earlier, we had no option but to travel outside J&K to appear in online tests, but now the facility is available here,” said Shilpa, an aspirant. Vikas Sharma

The riots and arson in New Delhi has become a reason for worry for the parents whose children study and work in the national capital. The parents are concerned about the well-being of their children. Many parents have gone to New Delhi to be with their children, while some have asked their children to come back to Jammu till things become normal. Laying of Jio cables raises eyebrows

Even as broadband and 4G services remain suspended in the Kashmir valley since August 5 last year, Jio cables are being laid everywhere these days. The process has been going on for the past several weeks and people are wondering when will the telecom provider start its broadband service. On the one hand, there has been no official word on the restoration of fast-speed Internet in Kashmir, and on the other hand, laying of Jio cables has led to many speculations. While the chances of resumption of the 4G Internet services look gloomy, people feel allowing broadband services only in Kashmir right now would create a monopoly of Jio in the telecom market.
