Drains in the Bantalab area of Jammu should be covered. The open drains are a serious threat to public health. Sometimes during the rainy season, the dirty water in the blocked drains overflows onto lanes posing as a health hazard.

Kachi Chawni road in poor condition

The road which connects the main market of Kachi Chawni with the Moti Bazaar area in old city was dug up for laying sewer lines four months ago but was left in a bad condition without repairs. The poor road condition has affected the business of shopkeepers, besides causing problems to students and passersby. The civic authorities should either macadamise the road or cover it with tiles immediately.

Vendors occupy footpaths

Vendors in the busy Batamaloo area have now occupied the footpaths, leaving no space for people to walk. While the authorities sometimes carry out drives to remove the vendors, they reoccupy the footpaths within no time. A police station is located in the area but it looks like the police are a mute spectator. The footpaths in Batamaloo must be cleared of the vendors as this is one of the busiest areas in the city.

Bridge left incomplete

Syedpora Rakhi Zakura on the city outskirts has been awaiting the completion of a bridge for a long time. The residents of the area have to take a long route to reach their destination daily, which causes them hardships. We have been appealing to the authorities to ensure the bridge is completed, but it seems no one cares.

Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
