The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached a property of a Pakistan-based terrorist who originally belongs to Doda district of Jammu division.
The property was attached by the State Investigation Agency (SIA) of the police on orders of a court.
The land of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Zahid Hussain in Mangota village was identified, physically verified, inspected and formally attached.
Hussain operates from Pakistan and is accused of radicalising and recruiting several youths from Doda and other areas as over-ground workers (OGWs).
Multiple properties of terrorists operating from Pakistan and PoJK have been attached in recent years to break the backbone of terrorism, especially in the Jammu region.
Terrorists belonging to Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Kishtwar and Doda districts crossed over the Line of Control (LoC) years ago to escape the law and have since been operating from there. Many of these ultras are involved in helping Pakistani terrorists enter the Indian side with the help of local guides in Indian villages close to the LoC.
Multiple terrorist attacks on security forces in the Jammu region have taken place since 2022 when the infiltration from Pakistan gained momentum. Intelligence agencies are keeping a close watch on the family members and relatives of the ultras operating from Pakistan.
