Pakistan against G20 meets scheduled in J&K
New Delhi, April 11
Though not a member of G20, Pakistan is nevertheless miffed over India’s decision to hold the G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in Srinagar next month. The scheduling of two other meetings of a G20 consultative forum on youth affairs (Y-20) in Leh and Srinagar is “equally disconcerting”, said Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“India’s irresponsible move is the latest to disregard UN Security Council resolutions and in violation of the principles of the UN Charter and international law. India is again exploiting its membership of an important international grouping,” it added.
Meanwhile, J&K and Ladakh reviewed preparations for the upcoming G20 events. Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidhuri issued directions to the officials and contractors associated with related works to complete them in time. Ladakh’s L-G Brig BD Mishra (retd) held a meeting of departmental secretaries at Raj Niwas.
