The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a high-level panel to examine the delay in the payments pertaining to the macademisation of roads.
According to an order issued by the government, the committee would look into the issue of delay in the payments pertaining to the macademisation by the Public Works (R&B) Department, Saubhagya Scheme, works executed in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Industries and Commerce Department.
The five-member committee would be headed by the Financial Commissioner, Finance Department, as chairman. The other members would be administrative secretaries of the Public Works (R&B) Department, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Industries and Commerce Department.
“The committee shall monitor and streamline the payment of dues for works/supplies which have been done in compliance with rules and ensure timely payment. It will continue to function till all backlogs of payments, as on September 15, are settled,” the order said.
