The popular tourist destination of Udhampur district, Patnitop, experienced the firs snowfall of 2020, which dipped the temperatures toa large extent in plain areas on Tuesday.
Amid heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, several tourists on Tuesday thronged the Patnitop hill station to enjoy the chilly weather and fresh snowfall.
The tourists who had returned after performing darshan at the Vaishno Devi temple went to the tourist spot to witness the snowfall.
Speaking to The Tribune, Aditya, a tourist from Chandigarh, said, “We were told about the heavy snowfall at Patnitop, in Katra, so we planned to come here. It is a very good place to visit and the natural beauty of the place is tremendous.”
However, he further said the place needed to be developed due to which people were facing problems.
Suriyansh Singh, a tourist, said, “I am seeing snowfall for the first time and it is quite amazing. I am enjoying with my family members despite the lack of facilities here.” He advocated that people should come and visit this area during winters because of its scenic beauty. Hoteliers are also happy and are expecting more tourists in the coming days in view of the fresh snowfall.
A large number of tourists who visited here today enjoyed playing in the snow at hill resort of Patnitop. Meanwhile, there was snowfall in Patnitop, Shiv Gali and Panchari Basantgarh area of Udhampur district on Tuesday, while it rained in the plains.
