The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday appointed 10 new district incharges in Jammu and Kashmir, according to a party announcement.
The decision comes amid party’s efforts to revive the organisation after it faced dismal performance in the recent Assembly elections in J&K. A spokesperson for the PDP said, “Well-structured grassroots networks will be activated in line with the political vision of our founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.”
In the recently held Assembly elections, PDP won three seats of Pulwama, Tral and Kupwara — all in the Valley — which was its worst performance since its inception. In 2014, the PDP had emerged as the single largest party by winning 28 seats.
