Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to J&K to flag off the first direct train to Kashmir from Katra on April 19 has been postponed, sources said. An official said no fresh date has been finalised, but added it would be announced soon. The reason for the postponement of the PM’s visit was not immediately known.
Earlier, Union Minister Jitendra Singh had informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in J&K on April 19 and also visit the world’s highest Chenab railway bridge and inaugurate it.
Recently, the Railways had marked a significant milestone after the first Vande Bharat train successfully completed its trial run from Mata Vaishno Devi Railway Station in Katra to the Kashmir Valley.
