Jammu and Kashmir Police have introduced advanced surveillance technology, including wall radar and thermal screening systems, on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Navayug Tunnel Qazigund, Kulgam.
A police statement said the newly installed systems are designed to monitor and detect concealed contrabands, illegal weapons, and other illicit materials within vehicles, reinforcing efforts to prevent smuggling and detect potential threats along the NH in real time.
According to the statement, to assess the operational effectiveness of the newly installed system, senior officers were present, who expressed their satisfaction with the newly-introduced technology and highlighted its importance in bolstering the security framework.
