Srinagar, March 3

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the All-India Police Water Sports Championship 2023-24 in Srinagar.

Sinha welcomed and extended his best wishes to all sportspersons, organisers and sports enthusiasts for a very successful and memorable championship.

He said over the last two decades, besides maintaining public order and tackling insurgency, the J&K Police have made a landmark as a host, for organising 17 prestigious and high-profile All India Police Championships professionally. “Sports, water sports in particular, embody the spirit of discipline, teamwork, and resilience. These qualities resonate with the principles that our law enforcement agencies uphold in their duty to safeguard our communities. The lessons learned during the competitions are a testament to the values that shape our professional lives,” he said.

“I am confident the visiting players and team members will enjoy the warm hospitality and magnificent sights of Jammu Kashmir and return as a brand ambassador of UT of Jammu Kashmir,” the Lt Governor further added.
