Budgam Police have attached properties worth Rs 1.28 crore in four separate cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in the district, as per an official release.

The Budgam Police Station attached the residential house and vehicles including Mahindra Scorpio, mini truck and Ashoka Leyland, all worth Rs 45.5 lakh belonging to Muhammad Yaseen Dar, a resident of Sholipora Budgam booked under NDPS Act at Khansahib Police Station.

Similarly, the Chadoora Police Station attached land situated at Moza Nowgam in Srinagar and a residential house worth Rs 63.7 lakh belonging to Muhammad Ayoub Beigh, a resident of Nowhar Chadoora.

In a separate operation, the Magam Police Station attached a two-wheeler and a double storied residential house situated at Badran Magam worth Rs 18.84 lakh belonging to Irfan Ahmad Lone, a resident of Badran Magam and booked at the Magam Police Station.

The attachment of the properties sent a strong message to those engaged in the illegal drug trade, that such activities would not be tolerated.

Budgam Police has reiterated their commitment of eradicating the drug menace and have urged the public to come forward with any information about drug trafficking or related activities.
