Property of terror accused attached

Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday attached the property of a terror accused who is already in judicial custody.

The Udhampur police attached the property under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967. The property of Mohammad Shafiq, a resident of Kadwah, bearing Khasra number 232 was attached by a team of police and district administration.

“The attachment has been carried out under Section 25 of the UAPA in connection with a case registered at Basantgarh police station under Sections 18, 19 and 39 of the UAPA. The said property has been identified during the investigation as being linked to terror-related activities,” an official said.

As per the order executed by the investigating officer, the said land has been officially attached and is now legally restricted from being sold/leased/ transferred or involved in any third-party transaction.
