Rashid ends hunger strike after court grants parole
The Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) on Monday announced that jailed MP Engineer Rashid has ended his hunger strike after 11 days following the Delhi High Court’s decision to grant him a two-day custody parole on February 11 and 13.
The AIP hailed the court’s decision, with party spokesperson Inam Un Nabi expressing gratitude to the people of Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency and the residents of J&K for their support during Rashid’s protest.
In a statement, Nabi also thanked political and religious leaders, civil society members, and human rights activists for standing in solidarity with the incarcerated leader. He further appreciated the efforts of the legal team for their tireless work in securing Rashid’s parole.
