With an aim to help students in their preparation for the board examinations after the affiliation with Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) was shifted to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) last year, the Ladakh School Education Department is holding remedial classes for students of class X and XII.

This will be the first time that students of government schools will appear for examinations under the CBSE board.

“This year, the students will be taking the central board exams for the first time and the School Education Department is making all possible efforts to make the students cope with the change and the challenges of shifting from a state board to the central board. In this regard, various residential and non-residential remedial winter classes have been started for the students of 10th and 12th standards, under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme of the Ministry of Education, GOI,” an official informed.

Principal Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar visited multiple schools including High School, Housing Colony, Higher Secondary School, Sakti, and High School, Choglamsar, to review the arrangements and progress of the classes, which is accommodating a good number of students of classes 10th and 12th of various high and higher secondary schools of Leh district.

The Principal Secretary interacted with the students, inquired about their preparations, and expressed his satisfaction with the arrangements. Similar remedial winter classes are being carried out in different blocks of Ladakh.
