National Conference provincial president Devender Singh Rana today sought restoration of mobile Internet and immediate filling of various categories of vacant posts in all departments.
Speaking at a function held in connection with the joining of a prominent political and social activist of Katalbatal in the Nagrota Assembly constituency Mangat Ram along with his supporters the National Conference here, Rana also called for the restoration of Internet services in the larger interest of trade, commerce, industry, tourism and academics of the youth.
“In this era of information technology, communication blockade for a long spell of time is unjust and uncalled for, especially when the broadband services are operative for a segment of society who can afford it and they making unhindered use of the connectivity without posing any threat to security environment,” he said, adding, “Only poor are being denied the facility”.
He hoped that the Centre and the local administration would take a call on the justified demand of the people and restore mobile Internet connectivity.
Drawing attention of the administration towards despondency among the youth, especially educated unemployed, the provincial president sought expeditious and time-bound filling of a large number of vacancies in various departments.
“The government should come out with a calendar on fast-track recruitment and make synergised efforts between designated authorities and departments concerned,” he said.
Alongside filling the vacancies in various departments, he called for special recruitment drives in the police as well.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included senior leader Rachpal Singh, Som Nath Khajuria, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, Rehmat Ali, Chairman, BDC, sarpanch Mohammad Iqbal and sarpanch Mohan Lal.
