Jammu, August 25
Kashmir police have announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh on a Pakistani terrorist for his involvement in terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The terrorist handler has been identified as Sumama alias Illyas, Babar, who is a resident of Pakistan and a commander in the proscribed outfit Lashker-e-Toiba.
The terrorist is wanted by Kashmir police in a case under Sections 13, 38, 39, 40 UA(P) Act, 120-B of the IPC. “The said terrorist handler is involved in radicalising, motivating and recruiting the potential/ gullible youth of J&K into terrorist ranks through different social media applications, including encrypted messaging applications and is using Kashmiri youth as couriers for raising and passing on funds to different terrorist organizations for carrying out terrorist acts in the valley,” an official statement read.
Police have urged the locals to inform them if anyone has any information regarding the terrorist. “If any person has any information regarding the above terrorist commander or handler leading to his arrest or apprehension, he may share the same on the following phone number and address and earn the required reward. The identity of the informer shall be kept secret,” it said.
