New Delhi, March 4
The Abhinavgupta Institute of Advanced Studies on Monday announced the inaugural Rajanaka Puraskar ceremony, which will honour scholars who have contributed to the domain of Kashmir Shaivism.
The ceremony will be held on March 8 in Kovalam, Kerala to coincide with Mahashivaratri and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the chief guest.
This year, the awards will be presented to Mark Dyczkowski and Navjivan Rastogi, prominent scholars of Kashmir Shaivism and tantric traditions. Kerala governor Arif Mohammad Khan will be the guest of honour on the occasion.
The award aims to revive the ancient title of Rajanaka, which was bestowed upon exceptional scholars in the classical Kashmir era. The Abhinavgupta Institute has been recognised as an Indian Knowledge System institute under the Education Ministry’s IKS Division.
