Jammu: Rural development schemes, projects reviewed in meeting
The Administrative Secretary for the Rural Development Department of Ladakh, Shashanka Ala, chaired a review meeting to discuss the schemes of Rural and Panchayati Raj.
The meeting started with the formal introduction of all participants, where Syed Sajjad Qadri, Director, Rural Development Leh, gave a detailed power-point presentation informing about the progress of ongoing works block-wise under the state sector and implementation of various schemes of Rural and Panchayati Raj in UT.
Shashanka Ala, reviewed the status of all the works block-wise and emphasised ensuring the timely execution and completion of the works. In addition, the Secretary directed the concerned BDOs and officials to prioritise resolving the pending issues to avoid any kind of delay.
The meeting also discussed the matters related to the provision of making Ladakh an Open Defecation Free (ODF) region, ensuring dry and wet waste management, the need to establish Solid Waste Management & Grey Waste Management infrastructure facilities and deliberated on various schemes under the MGNREGA. The attendees actively voiced their views and proposed thoughtful suggestions during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Under Secretary, Rural Development Department; Assistant Commissioner Development, Leh/Kargil; District Panchayat Officers, Leh/Kargil; Block Development Officers, Leh/Kargil, and all the officers stationed outside joined the meeting virtually among others.
