Samba admn takes action against illegal mining

The Samba administration on Thursday seized a JCB and three other vehicles involved in illegal mining. “To combat illegal mining, the district administration, under the guidance of DC Abhishek Sharma has taken stringent measures against the perpetrators of the unlawful trade,” an official said.
A joint operation conducted by the Geology and Mining Enforcement Team, led by the District Mining Officer (DMO), resulted in the seizure of one JCB and three vehicles involved in illegal mining activities.
“Besides, three vehicles were seized by different police stations of Samba. This operation underscores the administration’s unwavering commitment to curb the menace of illegal mining in the region,” the official said.
SSP Vinay Sharma along with Samba Police personnel have collaborated with the Geology and Mining team to intensify efforts in monitoring and curbing illegal extraction, unauthorised dumping, and transportation of minerals without payment of royalty.
