Samba cops arrest 6 men on theft, dacoity charges

Samba police have arrested six persons on theft and dacoity charges and recovered looted cash from their possession at Vijaypur, Ghagwal and Samba town.
The arrested accused have been identified as Balwinder Singh, Sunil Sharma, Abhishek Kumar, Sohan Lal, Kashiv Sharma and Ram Paul. Balwinder, Sunil and Abhishek have been arrested in a dacoity case under Sections 395, 341, 34 IPC, 4/25 Arms Act at Vijaypur and looted items have been recovered from them. Police has also seized a sharp-edged weapon.
Sohan Lal has been arrested in a case under Section 457, 380 IPC at Samba and police has recovered a stolen bike and other stolen items from his possession. Kashiv Sharma and Ram Paul have been arrested in a case under Section 379 IPC at Ghagwal.
Samba Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh said intensive drive against dacoits, robbers, snatchers and thieves is underway in Samba district and record 187 thieves have been arrested and 88 theft cases solved by police in a short span of time.
