SD Tarapuri School emerged overall champion in the District Speedball Championship which concluded at Dogra Higher Secondary School on Monday. Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), was the chief guest on the occasion. Total 10 schools participated in the championship. BN Public School finished first runner-up while the second runner-up trophy went to Banyan International School.

Lectures on women empowerment

The Army on Monday organised lectures on “Women Empowerment Schemes” at Government Primary School, Mithidhara, Hill Public School, Khaniyalkote, Behramgala and Youth Centre Palma in Poonch and Rajouri districts. The aim of the lecture was to spread awareness among people about various women empowerment schemes being run by the government. The initiative was appreciated by the locals.

Students excel in competition

Students of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, have excelled in the recently held inter-school Dramebaaz Competition at Shiksha Niketan School, Pusph Vatika. Two students namely Kanik Kour and Vihaan Gandhi clinched the first and second positions, respectively. Other students Ojaswi, Dashneet Kour and Sandhi Anand received participation certificates. The competition was based on the theme “Conservation of Natural Resources” where children acted on how to conserve natural resources in a responsible manner. Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice- Chairperson, of the school congratulated the winners and participants.
