Seminar on 'Experiential learning'

The department of education, University of Jammu, organised a day-long national seminar on “Experiential learning: Innovation and trends” under the UGC Special Assistance Programme (SAP) at the level of DRS-II. The seminar was inaugurated by Professor Keshav Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs. The keynote address were presented by Professor Avinash K Singh , department of education policy, National Institute of Educational planning and Administration, Prof Nityananda Pradhan, principal, Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal , Dr Mousumi Mukherjee, associate professor and Deputy Director, International institute for Higher Educational Research and Capacity Building, OP Jindal Global University.

National Maths Day at GDC Jindrah

A workshop was held on national Mathematics Day’ to increase awareness about the subject.

Government Degree College Jindrah, in collaboration with J&K Science & Technology Council, conducted a day-long workshop on the occasion of “National Mathematics Day”. The topic of the workshop was ‘Mathematical thinking-must for life’. The initiative was taken to develop awareness of importance of mathematics so that more students opted for this subject to develop their IQs.

Livelihood diversification

The University of Jammu organised a workshop on financial inclusion and livelihood enhancement and diversification in Gajansoo panchayat of Marh tehsil. The programme was conceptualised, planned and implemented by Dr Sandeep Singh, assistant professor of the department. At the workshop, the concept of livelihood diversification and enhancement was explained by the organiser.

Lecture on cyber crime

The Army organised an awareness lecture on “Cyber crime” at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mandi, in Poonch. The basic aim of the lecture was to create awareness on cyber crime and its impact on society. The lecture covered various technical aspects related to cyber crime. It further elaborated on the fact that cyber crimes are among the several major security challenges that India faces. Nearly 64 students and 3 teachers attended the lecture.
