Seven arrested for gambling in Samba

Samba police apprehended seven person on gambling charges on a specific tip off under the jurisdiction of Bari Brahmana and seized stake money to the tune of Rs 1,32,090. Those apprehended have been identified as Devarka Nath, Harnam Singh, Jinder Pal Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Daleep Singh and Mohammad Arshad.
“Police had received information regarding illegal activity of gambling in Bari Brahmana area and as such police team of Bari Brahmana led by SDPO Bari Brahmana and SHO raided the gambling spot near Birpur Complex, Industrial Area, and apprehended seven persons red-handed while gambling along with the stake money. Legal action under Section 13 of Gambling Act has been taken by police against the said persons. Additional SSP Samba Surinder Choudhary is monitoring the legal procedure,” said an official.
