In the aftermath of three killings by terrorists in Kathua last week, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have transferred the Station House Officer (SHO) of Malhar, where the victims were found dead.

The victims—Varun Singh (14), his uncle Yogesh Singh (32) and maternal uncle Darshan Singh (40)—were part of a wedding procession and went missing on their way to a nearby village. The locals had protested against the Police Department, alleging flaws in the investigation.

As a result, SHO Malhar Riyaz Ahmed has been transferred and Arun Kumar Shan has been appointed in his place.

The bodies of the three victims were discovered in Ishu Nallah in Malhar during a joint search operation on Saturday. The police have also found personal belongings of the deceased near the waterfall where the bodies were located. Sources stated that the post-mortem report is still awaited.

In response to the killings, large-scale search operations continue in the region to eliminate the terrorists responsible for the deaths.

This follows a similar incident on February 16, when the bodies of two villagers, Shamsher (37) and Roshan (45), were found in Kohag village in Billawar, Kathua. The victims were allegedly strangled to death by terrorists.
