A lecture on ‘Indian knowledge tradition in character building’ was organised at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in which Atul Kothari, National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, was the chief guest.
The lecture, titled ‘Charitra Nirman evam Vyaktitva Vikas ki Bharatiya Sankalpana’ was organised at the Matrika Auditorium of the varsity.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Pragati Kumar emphasised that the objective of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is not limited to making students employment-oriented, but also to ensure their holistic development.
In his address, Kothari stated that the successful implementation of the NEP requires the active participation not only of teachers but also of students. “Through NEP-2020, we have the opportunity to build citizens who are Indian in thought, intellect and conduct,” he said. He further added that for national resurgence, it is essential to integrate Indian knowledge traditions at every level and in every sphere of education.
