Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, has been listed among the top 100 universities in the world after being ranked 71st in the sustainable development goals: affordable and clean energy category according to The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2020.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. It carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across three broad areas: research, outreach, and stewardship.
The list published by The Times Higher Education includes 361 universities from 66 countries. At the national level, the SMVDU stands at the 4th position and is the only university/institution from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir that has been ranked in any of the parameters in these recent impact rankings.
Prof RK Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, while congratulating the university fraternity for achieving this milestone, said the quality education and world-class research had always been a priority of the university.
Previously, the SMVDU was ranked among top 100 engineering and management institutions, and in top 150 universities in the country by the National Institutional Research Framework (NIRF) 2019 rankings released by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
