SMVDU's non-teaching staff welcomes regularisation decision
The non-teaching employees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) held a felicitation event to commend the university’s leadership for their decision to do away with the five-year contractual employment system.
They conveyed their gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his commitment to institutional development in general and employee welfare in particular. They said under his guidance, this long-standing issue was resolved with compassion and determination, reflecting his deep commitment to institutional equity and human dignity.
In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof Pragati Kumar thanked the L-G and Chancellor of SMVDU, Manoj Sinha, for his support and guidance. He also praised the administrative team’s both within the Office of the Chancellor as well as the University for their diligent efforts and assured the staff that their concerns would continue to be addressed through established institutional mechanisms. He acknowledged that progress may take time but emphasised that “sincere efforts always yield results.”
The non-teaching staff celebrated this development as a “moment of pride” and a foundation for future successes, expressing optimism for continued supportive and responsive leadership.
