Leh, November 30
The abnormally soaring prices of the Leh-bound flights after the closure of all roads leading to the region have become a cause of worry for Ladakhi people.
With no other means to travel from Ladakh to other parts of the country, the people of Ladakh, who are dependent on flights, have started to suffer due to the high cost of air tickets.
Any traveller from Ladakh who wishes to fly from Leh to Delhi, which is just an hour-long flight, has to shell out as high as Rs 25,000 per ticket.
Member Parliament Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal raised the issue of air services and exorbitant air fare in the Leh-Delhi sector of Ladakh.
He also asked the government about the proposal to operate civil aircraft during night at Kushok Bakula Rinpoche (KBR) Airport, Leh.
