Jammu, November 16
The UT administration has approved to bring 1.30 lakh new pension cases of elderly, widows and physically challenged in the ambit of the Centre’s Social Security Pension Schemes. Lieutenant-Governor GC Murmu chaired a high-level meeting, where the decision was taken to review the issue of pending pension cases in J&K.
In the meeting, Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi said presently, 6,12,950 beneficiaries were deriving benefit from the ISSS and NSAP schemes. Whereas, more than 3 lakh cases were pending with the department. — TNS
