J&K Speaker to hold meeting with House panel heads

Abdul Rahim Rather, Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, will hold a meeting with the chairpersons of different House committees on Monday to discuss their workings.

The meeting will involve heads of nine House Committees recently constituted to perform functions prescribed under the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the J&K Assembly.

Sources indicate that the chairpersons will meet Rather in the morning to discuss their financial and other workings.

Those expected to take part in the meeting include Sham Lal Sharma, Chairman Committee on Public Accounts; Shamim Firdous, Chairperson Committee on Estimates; Ali Mohammad Sagar, Chairman Committee on Public Undertakings; Sajad Gani Lone, Chairman, Committee on Government Assurances; Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami, Chairman Committee on Environment; Surjeet Singh Slathia, Chairman Ethics committee; Nizam-ud-din Bhat, Chairman Committee on Privileges;. Hasnain Masoodi, Chairman Committee on Subordinate Legislation; and Pirzada Farooq Ahmad Shah, Chairman Committee on Petitions.

Senior government officials, including the Principal Accountant General, J&K; Commissioner Secretary to Government, General Administration Department; and the Secretary to Government Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, are also expected to attend the meeting.
