Spring Dales among top 10 schools

Spring Dales English School, Changran, Kathua, has made it to the top 10 state board schools of the country for the second consecutive year. The school has been ranked No 1 in J&K and No 10 in India by Education Today, an educational magazine . The award along with a certificate was received by the Director, Prof RK Gupta, and Principal Usha Gupta at an award function of the India School Merit Awards Ceremony 2019 organised in Bangalore.

Sanskriti school organises cycle rally

Harsh Tomar of Class XI, Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua, participated in a cycle rally organised by the Excise Department in collaboration with the Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority to spread awareness on drug abuse. Tomar has been one of the five extraordinary cyclists out of 45 participants who have been rewarded with a trophy of appreciation for his outstanding achievement. The theme of the cyclothon was “say no to drugs, say yes to sports”. The rally was flagged off by Amarjeet Singh, Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive).

KVS foundation day

Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Udhampur, celebrated the 56th KVS foundation day with great enthusiasm and fervour. Principal Sumit Mehra was the chief guest on the occasion. A group dance competition of the primary wing and the secondary wing was held in which four houses, Shivaji, Tagore, Ashoka and Raman participated. In the group dance competition, Shivaji house stood first, Ashoka and Raman house second and Tagore house got the third position. In the group song, Raman house secured first position, Ashoka stood second and Tagore house got the third position. Vote of thanks was attributed to all by Meenakshi Sharma.

National conference at SMVDU

The fourth National Conference on Recent Trends In Mathematical Sciences (NCRTMS 2019) was inaugurated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. The school of mathematics is organising a two-day national conference in association with the International Academy of Physical Sciences (IAPS). During the inaugural session, Dr Uday Pratap Singh, Head, school of mathematics and convener of the conference delivered the welcome address.

Army conducts Swachhata Pakhwada

The Army, with an aim to spread awareness on importance of cleanliness and hygiene among the local population, conducted the Swachhata Pakhwada at Government Middle School, Khari, Ramban. Students were educated about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene standards in their personal lives and surroundings. The event was successful in spreading message of ‘Clean India Green India’.

Lecture on joining Armed forces

The Army organised a motivational lecture to join “Armed Forces” on the university campus, Bhadarwah. The event was aimed to extend awareness among students and youth hailing from remote and far-flung areas regarding various provisions of joining the Army on completion of higher secondary education. Participants were imparted awareness on the procedure of joining the armed forces, which included a written examination and interviews for various types of entries in the Army.
