Srinagar mayor Junaid Mattu will travel to Bihar to meet family of the vendor killed by terrorists in Srinagar on Tuesday. Besides a road in the city will be named after pharmacy owner Makhan Lal Bindroo, who was among three civilians killed by terrorists.
“Will personally travel to Bhagalpur, Bihar to meet the family of Virender Paswan — a poor street vendor who was mercilessly killed by terrorists at Lal Bazar, Srinagar,” Mattu tweeted.
“His family deserves every last bit of our empathy, moral support and affection. We mourn his tragic demise,” the mayor added.
“The road from Haft Chinar Chowk to Jehangir Chowk (where Bindroo Medicare is located) will be named Shaheed Makhan Lal Bindroo Road as a tribute to his contributions to the society,” Mattu said in another tweet.
He said a resolution to this effect will be formally proposed in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation General Council.
