Srinagar experiences coldest day in June after 47 years

Srinagar: Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 15.0°C on Tuesday, the coldest June day since 1975. The temperature remained 14.2 degrees Celsius below normal. Such temperature is common in February for Srinagar. OC

Seismological observatory comes up in Udhampur

Jammu: Union Minister Jitendra Singh inaugurated the latest seismological observatory, installed by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, in Udhampur on Tuesday. In five years, 100 more such centres will come up across the country, he said.
