Petrol stations go dry

Most of the fuel-filling stations in the city have been facing shortage of petrol and diesel. I had to go from one petrol pump to another but everywhere I was told there was a shortage of fuel as tankers were stranded on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway for the past many days. As shortage results in hoarding, the government should urgently take steps to make available petrol and diesel at pumps.

Chaos on road outside SKIMS

The stretch of the main road at Soura, which extends from the the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) to its maternity hospital, is occupied by hawkers and local buses and taxis. This stretch is important as this is used by ambulances carrying critical patients. The authorities should ensure that the road is cleared off the hawkers and buses for smooth movement of patients.
