The department made an appeal to all the taxpayers to practice invoice-based business and report their actual sales and pay the necessary amount of GST in their monthly/quarterly returns to avoid enforcement actions and penalties.

The Department has impressed upon the taxpayers that any fraudulent activity is generating red flag inputs in various AI tools including Business Intelligence and Fraud Analytics (BIFA), E-way Bills Portal and other portals of enforcement wings and therefore need to be avoided.

Over the past one week, the enforcement teams investigated violations under GST Law by verifying documents, physical stock position, bill books, among others. The inspections are part of enforcement activity. 13 teams have been constituted to carry out inspections across the UT.
