Stop dumping garbage in Bahu Park

Bahu park, overlooking the city, is only a garden constructed on the lower Shivalik hills, but it is not being maintained properly. Much of the garbage, which mostly include plastic waste, is dumped on the slopes of the garden. Even dustbins have not been placed properly. The authorities maintaining the garden should take steps to ensure waste is collected properly. It is very unfortunate that its maintenance is being neglected. Kavita, Bahu Fort

Lakhs of rupees have been invested by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to erect new modern passenger sheds, but people don’t prefer to sit on the benches. Mini secretariat nowhere

In 2017, the then J&K Government shifted the Batamaloo bus stand to Parimpora and later announced that it would construct a mini secretariat at the place. Almost three years have passed since the announcement but nothing has been done on the ground, indicating that the government was not serious about its construction. Garbage dumped on roads

Heaps of garbage can be seen dumped on roads at many places in the city. Despite the Srinagar Municipal Corporation collecting garbage regularly, the problem seems to persist. This is also leading to an increase in the population of stray dogs. The authorities must fine those dumping garbage on the roads and there should be designated places for dumping garbage.
