Authorities in Jammu have issued an order mandating all firearm licence holders of Jammu district to comply with the provisions of the Arms (Amendment) Act 2019.

District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya stated that, under the act, no individual is permitted to possess more than two firearms. As per the order, all license holders identified with more than two firearms are required to surrender the excess weapons within one week. “These licence holders are instructed to deposit their additional firearm at the nearest police station or authorised unit armoury, in case they are members of Armed Forces of the Union,” said a spokesperson.
