Jammu, June 3
Two days after one labourer of Ware House (Nehru Market) was found Covid-19 positive, thermal screening of 2,000 labourers working in one of the biggest wholesale market in Jammu and Kashmir was conducted.
The traders federation have also approached the authorities to take samples of all labourers and traders to ensure virus does not spread further.
Deepak Gupta, general secretary, Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market (TFWHNM), said, “The market has not been closed but we are taking every precaution. The authorities have assured that samples will be collected in the coming days”.
The authorities are worried as traders from every district of Jammu and Kashmir and even Ladakh lift essential commodities from the market and the labourer was working in one of the godowns.
“We are cooperating with the authorities and contact tracing is being conducted. We have asked the labourers working in the area to come forward and get themselves screened”, said Rattan Lal Gupta, president, Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market.
