New Delhi, January 3

The J&K police today said they had neutralised a top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander and his Pakistani accomplice in two separate encounters on the outskirts of Srinagar. The LeT commander, Saleem Parray, a resident of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, was killed in a brief gunfight in Shalimar area, while his accomplice Hafiz, alias Hamza, of Pakistan fled. The accomplice was later gunned down in a separate encounter in a nearby area at Harwan an hour later, the police said.
