The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) today urged the J&K Bank administration to rein in its “haughty” officials who were allegedly harassing businessmen.
The traders’ body said it would submit a list to the J&K Bank chairman of the officials who were harassing them.
“J&K Bank is a premier institution and has come to our rescue several times in the past. But unfortunately, a few officials of the bank are giving the bank a bad name by unnecessarily harassing us. We have prepared a list of such officials that will be submitted to the bank chairman. We hope appropriate action is taken against them,” said KTA president Aijaz Shahdhar.
He said the traders had been suffering for the past several years and the bank should come forward to help them instead of creating hurdles for them.
“We have suffered immense losses, especially since the 2014 September floods, and the losses have accentuated during the past one year due to the successive lockdowns, first due to the abrogation of Article 370 and then due to Covid. J&K Bank officials should, therefore, come to our rescue instead of creating unnecessary hurdles,” said Shahdhar.
