Pedestrian subway needs govt attention

A pedestrian subway outside Government Polytechnic College on the busy Bikram Chowk-Gandhi Nagar road is non-functional due to poor upkeep and failure of the authorities concerned to ensure its regular cleanliness. Students of the college and other pedestrians have a difficult time crossing the busy road, which on many occasions lead to fatal mishaps. The pedestrian subway has virtually remained unused since its construction due to stink and garbage inside it. The authorities should clean the subway so that it is put to use. —Rajinder Bakshi, Canal road
