The Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust, Udhampur, on Tuesday honoured Padma Shri awardee professor Shiv Kumar Nirmohi.

Chairman, Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust, Dev Raj Gupta along with trust members — Deepanker Gupta, Ranjit Parihar and Ashok Kumar – on Tuesday visited the house of Prof Shiv Kumar Nirmohi and felicitated him.

Gupta highlighted Nirmohi’s contribution to the Duggar literature, culture and art. He said Nirmohi, who belonged to Panthel village but was settled in Udhampur, had written in detail about the Dogra literature and culture in more than 35 books, which had been honored by the Central government by conferring him the Padma Shri.

He said Prof Nirmohi had brought honour for the Dogras.

On the occasion, Prof Nirmohi talked about his literary journey and lauded the role of the number of persons who had helped him in compiling the historical facts about the Dogra culture. He thanked the Tushar Memorial Trust for the felicitation.
