The police on Monday foiled two separate bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Samba and Ghagwal and rescued 14 bovines. Two vehicles used for illegal transportation of bovines were also seized.

A police party from Rakh Amb Talli during vehicle checking intercepted a truck coming via border road. During checking of the vehicle, 10 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle concealed in a fabricated generator-like container and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.

Similarly, a police party of Border Police Post Babbar Nallah while performing vehicle checking signalled to stop a load carrier coming via border road. During checking, four bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
