Udhampur police have arrested two wanted women drug peddlers and recovered 19.69 gram heroin like substance from their possession.

“Based on reliable information regarding the smuggling of heroin in Dabreh area of Krimachi in Udhampur, a party from Udhampur police station, headed by its SHO along with the SHO of Women police station raided the suspected location and two women were arrested who were engaged in the trade of heroin,” an official said.

He said the raid was carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, First Class, and during frisking of both apprehended women, 19.69 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from their possession. The drug peddlers have been identified as Halima and Nishad, both residents of Dabreh Morh, Udhampur.

An FIR has been registered under Sections 8, 21, 22 NDPS Act at Udhampur police station and investigation started.
