UT status has benefited all in Ladakh: Ram Madhav

On the second day of his visit to Ladakh, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav interacted with leaders of Kargil district on Monday.
Sources said Ram Madhav sought feedback from party workers of Kargil about developmental activities in the mountainous region after granting of the Union Territory (UT) status to Ladakh. The BJP’s national general secretary also reviewed the functioning of the organisation in Kargil.
Earlier at a simple function, Ram Madhav along with senior BJP leaders, including Lok Sabha member from Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, paid tributes to founder of Bharatiya Jan Sangh (BJS) Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee on his birth anniversary.
While addressing party workers at Kargil, Ram Madhav said the UT status had benefited all in Ladakh. “Kargil people, too, have benefited with this change in the status from being a neglected part of the erstwhile state to a full-fledged Union Territory with the governance coming to their doorsteps,” he said, assuring residents of preserving all the ethnic and cultural identities and maintaining of the environment.
